The Art Institute of Chicago’s Project Windows program for 2025 has been announced! Each year, the AIC invites neighborhood businesses to participate in the annual window contest that brings customers from across the city to their businesses while also promoting the AIC’s summer exhibition.
This year’s summer exhibition is Gustave Caillebotte: Painting His World. Caillbotte was a French artist and arts supporter in the late 1800s, and while his work did not reach the public until after his death, the financial freedom he had allowed him to paint non-traditional subjects for the era: his family, sportsmen, workers, street scenes, etc. For this year’s Project Windows theme, think impressionist Paris, French cafes, urban scenes, and a focus on everyday people.
Stanley Smith of Oak Street Design and Nora Gainer of AIC will present these themes and details about the Project Windows contest in two webinars for small business owners, on April 9 or 16, 2025, from 10 to 11 am. Please join them to learn more and hear information about the Choose Chicago grants that are available. Email Achaia Moore to sign up for an information session.
