We are already planning for the next 95th Street Farmers Market season! Our market will open for the season on Sunday, May 3, 2020, and operate through the last Sunday in October. The hours of operation are 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Operating rain or shine, the market takes place in the city-owned commuter lot located on the corner of 95th and Longwood Drive, 1835 W. 95th Street.
One of our main objectives this season is to attract 19th Ward residents who have not yet made the market part of their weekend routine. We are once again partnering with many 19th Ward and Chicago organizations to join us on a rotating basis in our Community Tent. Other popular features include live music each week from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and complimentary face painting for children from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. every other Sunday. We are also excited to host the children’s librarian from the Beverly Branch Library. She will join us often throughout our season to offer children’s crafts and register children for the city’s summer reading program during the summer months of the market season.
Special thanks to our sponsors: Beverly Bank – premier sponsor of the market, the 19th Ward Youth Foundation, Senator Bill Cunningham, Representative Fran Hurley, Southtown Health Foods, Pacor, BAPA, Alderman Matt O’Shea, and the 95th Street Business Association. We also thank the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences for their help with our market.
Please be sure to “like” our 95th Street Facebook page to stay up to date on our weekly schedule for the market. You can also visit the Farmers Market tab on our website, www.95thstreetba.org, for more information.
Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you at the market!
