QUARTERLY BULLETIN:

The quarterly newsletter brings you information about what is happening on 95th Street.  It also provides pertinent information regarding City of Chicago policies and programs.

 

95TH STREET DIRECTORY:

The Association annually publishes a directory of 95th Street businesses.  This handy booklet is distributed to members and includes important community and City of Chicago phone numbers.

 

MERCHANT ALERT FLYERS:

This system advises member merchants of bad checks, phony currency, emergencies, and other items of importance.  These flyers are faxed or emailed to member merchants on a timely basis.

 

BEAUTIFICATION and MAINTENANCE:

The Association's comprehensive beautification and maintenance program includes sidewalk sweeping, litter pick-up, weed eradication and much more.

 

SEASONAL DECORATIONS:

Two sets of seasonal banners are displayed. American flags commemorate Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Flag Day, Labor Day and 9/11. Flags also fly at the east and west entrances to the community.

 

HOLIDAY DECORATIONS:

95th Street is transformed into a winter wonderland for the holiday shopping season with white lights illuminating the trees in the median.  Green wreaths, red ribbon and garland adorn the light poles.  All this creates a holiday atmosphere for merchants and shoppers.

 

SNOWPLOWING:

95th Street sidewalks are plowed when snow reaches a depth of two inches or more.  A six-foot wide path is cleared to assist merchants in providing access to their stores and complying with the City of Chicago snow removal ordinance.

 

CUSTOMER REFERRAL:

The Association regularly receives inquiries from your potential customers.  The referral system refers only Association members.  Another good reason to join!

 

PROMOTIONS:

95th Street Business Association supports a variety of community promotions and seasonal and holiday contests.  It sponsors a quarterly group advertising promo and a “cross promotion campaign” to encourage residents and business owners to shop locally.

 

SEMINARS and WORKSHOPS:

Quarterly seminars give member merchants professional advice on sales and marketing techniques, financial tools, City programs, business planning and/or security procedures.  Workshops are always a good chance to network and share ideas.

 

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:          

The Beverly Hills/Morgan Park Economic Development Task Force works to strengthen the commercial strip and attract quality businesses.  A database of pre-development information is maintained.  Marketing packets with demographics, maps, and pertinent information are sent to retailers and developers.

 

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE:

Through a grant from the City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development, the Association provides technical assistance to individual businesses, participates in the Retail Chicago initiative, and promotes strategies to enhance 95^th Street.
